Sorry pressed enter too quickly.
So heres the info:

 SUMMARY
when double cliking a .deb package, if discover is closed, then discover will start, "interrupt" the deb installation by doing a "checking for updates" and then or right side of page of discover a blank "page" is displayed instead of the deb package and install button.

 STEPS TO REPRODUCE
 1. make sure discover closed
 2. start or double click a deb package

 OBSERVED RESULT
discover doesn't display a install button with also the info. of the deb package

 EXPECTED RESULT
Display the deb info plus the install button.

 SOFTWARE VERSIONS
fresh install of kde neon 2018-10-11 and a sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade done.

note: If you start Discover and then double click/start a .deb package, the normal expected result happens (no blank page, etc)

Could you try running it from a terminal and see if there's a warning or something we can use to reproduce? I can't.
Comment 3 sp 2018-10-20 01:27:29 UTC
well, I've tried it now and it works. Must have been the latest set of updates that fixed it.

So guess you can close the ticket.

for information:
-I was using nvida proprietary drivers.
