Description Nicolas Girard 2018-10-07 06:27:57 UTC
As discussed in https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/9lvkbr/how_to_make_latte_dock_to_look_like_gnomeunity/ , the wiki pages from the legacy psifidotos/Latte-Dock repository on Github (https://github.com/psifidotos/Latte-Dock/wiki) need to be migrated to the KDE wiki.

I'm volunteering to take care of this, so I wish this task to be assigned to me.

I'm welcoming any information / advice.

perfect!

github wiki is then only thing remaining in github. Only advice, just try to not be too different comparing to the github one structure...

I'm now figuring out the best place to put the pages.

From the 3 existing kde wikis (User Base, Tech Base, Community) and their description (https://wiki.kde.org/), User Base seems the most appropriate to me.

Then, from the User Base portal (https://userbase.kde.org/Welcome_to_KDE_UserBase), I'd go to Applications (https://userbase.kde.org/Applications) and from that page, "The Desktop" (https://userbase.kde.org/Special:MyLanguage/Applications/Desktop).

Problem is, the "Applications" page (https://userbase.kde.org/Applications) seem to imply that the contents here do not deal with the applications from KDE-Apps.org, to which I think Latte belongs.

Any thoughts ?

agreed on user base

this isnt a problem because Latte is an official kde project found in kde extragears.

I dont think the "Desktop" can be used for Latte because in the description it says:
"These applications are common programs usually found in base KDE Plasma 4 or 5 installations." . It means that these apps are preinstalled which isnt the case for Latte.

Using userbase and applications will be just fine...

sorry I mean:

UserBase->Applications->Utilities and Tools

looks a more appropriate place...

If we prefer Applications Desktop I must ask first the kde members to confirm that it is a right place to use

Fine, this allows me to move on, thanks.

Also I followed the guidelines and created an account on Phabricator (which purportedly "unifies all your kde accounts into one"), as initially I only had one account on bugs.kde.org. Obviously I used the same email address.

But confusingly enough, I have no assigned tasks on phabricator (https://phabricator.kde.org/people/tasks/13467/). I expected this one to be listed.

I created https://phabricator.kde.org/T9809
and I have sent an e-mail to plasma devs for the right place to add Latte Dock wiki... We will have to wait for a few responses...
