SUMMARY There are a couple of forums I like to visit. In Chromium, the forum software takes me to the first unread message in a thread (which I prefer), while Falkon takes me to the bottom of the thread. Can anybody confirm something like that? Is it working as designed. A couple of examples of forums are: - http://lummys.com/fanlax/phpbb3/index.php (Powered by phpBB® Forum Software © phpBB Group) - https://forum.manjaro.org/ (Discourse) I think once you register, there must be some aspect of the forum software that (maybe a cookie?) that "remembers" the last post you read. Then when you return, you get put back right after the last read post. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Join https://forum.manjaro.org/ 2. Read a few recent, active threads, all the way to the bottom (note there is infinate scrolling), some in Chromium, and some in Falkon 3. Record (say, in a text file) the last read post. 4. Come back the next day, and open the threads in Chromium and Falkon (same browser as you used last time for the same thread). OBSERVED RESULT The threads you watch in Chromium will resume at the first unread post. The threads you watch in Falkon will resume close to the bottom. EXPECTED RESULT The threads you watch in Chromium should resume at the first unread post. The threads you watch in Falkon should resume at the first unread post. Are you able to re-test in Falkon 3.1.0 and please report your findings.
Thank you. It appears to work with http://fanlax.com/forum/index.php (Powered by phpBB® Forum Software © phpBB Limited), and with https://forum.manjaro.org/ (Discourse). While I continue to test, could you let me know if there was a targeted fix, or just upgrades of Falkon's dependencies?
Edit, I do not think it works with with https://forum.manjaro.org/ (Discourse).
(In reply to Marco Parillo from comment #2) > While I continue to test, could you let me know if there was a targeted fix, > or just upgrades of Falkon's dependencies? No targeted fix that I know of, more that I'd just like to see if it was an issue on a newer version. Thanks for the info. I'll set it as confirmed as it still affects some forum software.
