SUMMARY This is just a suggestions. When browsing tags, there's an option to expand or collapse the selected tag, showing and hiding all the subtags at once. This option is not available for the folders in the tree view (called "Albums" in Digikam) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go go the "Albums" right panel. 2. Right click on a folder that contains subfolders. 3. Notice the lack of "expand" and "collapse" options. EXPECTED RESULT Options could be there, like in the "Tag" panel. ACTUAL RESULT They are not there :´( SOFTWARE VERSIONS digiKam-6.0.0-beta1-20180920T204303-Win64.exe on Windows 10 64bit
I suggest to mark this request RESELVED or REJECTED, because in v7.2 (on Windows) you _can_ expand and collapse folder tree under "Albums". Perhaps MarcP was actually searching for the "View -> Include Album Sub-Tree" option? If yes, then it exists as well (but for reasons incomprehensible to me, this option is disabled by default). If I can high-jack this issue, I would suggest to change the default setting of "View -> Include Album Sub-Tree" to ON. (but either way this issue should be closed.)
Hi. I exactly remember when I submitted this bug, but I think I meant an option to expand and collapse the full subalbum tree, including subfolders of subfolders. Right now, when you expand an album, you only expand the first level, not their subfolders. But to be honest, it's not a feature I have really been missing. And about including the album sub-trees by default, I don't know. I personally always use that option, but for people who are more used to browse pictures by album in a file explorer, they might find it confusing why all of them are being shown at the same time. Both cases are ok for me, really.
OK, as I understand you were thinking about "Expand All" or "Collapse All" options for the tree. These do not exist, but without a substantial number of people who feel that they would love to use "Expand All" option I would not spend time on this. I would even argue that to NOT have "Expand All" and "Collapse All" options is actually better - to not increase amount of available actions in the right-click menu (more options = harder to find what you need). @MarcP, perhaps you would set this to RESOLVED to reduce amount of open issues?
Yes, that's what I meant. Feel free to close it, it's not really a big deal.
