Prerequisites: 1. Enable Grouping By Program Name in Task Manager options. 2. Enable Open groups in popups. 3. Disable Only group when the task manager is full. Steps: 1. Open two instances of some app - Dolphin for example. 2. Open one instance of some app - Kate for example. 3. Left click on panel Kate task. 4. Left click on panel Dolphin task. 5. Press current windows switch Alt+` shortcut. Actual: 1. Empty 'Plasma' task is appearing. 2. If panel options window was opened it also appears near empty Plasma task. Reproducible both on X11 and Wayland. This issue report is quite old. Can you please confirm, that it still persists with KDE 5.23? I don't see the option "Open groups in popups" in the Task Switcher settings.
