Plasma 5.14 beta on Arch Linux... start wayland session search for energy saving in apps launcher and open it check "screen energy saving", set "switch off after" to 1 minute and apply turn off the monitor by pressing on/off physical button disconnect hdmi cable from the computer wait your system to reach "switch off after" timout (1 minute) reconnect the monitor to the hdmi port turn on the monitor by pressing on/off physical button Result: wayland sesion is unusable, I see only a black screen with or without cursor. I need to force the computer to restart. Such problem does not occur under X11.

Related: bug 402827, bug 389551, bug 413758 Test Plan: Starting without outputs, manual disconnects and DPMS changes. There is still an issue when an output gets disconnected while the DPMS is off. But it's an improvement already.
