Description Patrick Silva 2018-09-15 17:18:33 UTC
Neon dev unstable here...
I do not know if kwin if the correct product for this report.
Please correct it if I'm wrong.

connect an external monitor to hdmi port
turn on the external monitor
turn on the laptop
when sddm appears, tap the drop down to select some plasma session
nothing happens

Problem to type password:
type the first letter - ok, you can see the asterisk in the password field
type the second letter - first asterisk disappears and you remains with
just one asterisc visible in the password field.

SDDM is not a part of KDE project, so no, it's probably not.

Though actually, SDDM doesn't really handle input either, it's just a QtQuick view on an unmanaged window. I can't see what could be wrong in SDDM.

Please test with sddm --test-mode inside your session and confirm that's fine.

Xorg doesn't IMO by default map the touch screen coordinates to the "correct" display.
