Apologies if this is trivial, but I cannot seem to find the option (neither in the program's menu's or the documentation) to paste hex data directly into Okteta without it being considered as actual data. Am I missing the obvious or is this feature missing?
Hi. No, you can trust your eyes, this is a lacking feature of Okteta even after all the years, been a TODO since the start. Okteta is currently in a complete rewrite, hopefully finished before end of year. Support for decoding different input formats (so also those from the clipboard) should be finally added during that.
Thanks for the reply. Looking forward for the new version.

Feature still not on the primary schedule sadly. The mentioned "complete rewrite" is still on-going (actually rewrite plans are rewritten themselves a few times). Though need for feature high on awareness as before, So was the code for entering data for search/replace as well as for entering into the Decoding Table tool enhanced meanwhile a bit, and prepared another step for merging into a generic input scanning system, which then also would be used for mass inserting/pasting. Current hopes are this will be the first thing to tackle post Qt6/QtScript porting currently happening, in early 2025.
Actually missed before this is a duplicate of some older report, so closing now as that. But at the same time there is also some good news on the matter finally... latest 0.26.23 release got some hard-coded heuristics to try to decode things from plain text if available. See comment on the duplicated bug for more details. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 230895 ***
