Description David 2018-09-11 15:57:01 UTC
Discover app notifies of system updates available and i can see list but nothing happens, I have tried to start the update but the discover app has 'frozen'. I updated via terminal - sudo apt update, then sudo apt upgrade which seems to have updated the system updates. When i now try to close the discover app I get error message 'cannot close as tasks are still being performed.

1. If you perform the updates via terminal, that's gonna confuse Discover for sure. Not recommended.

2. Are you talking about the actual Discover app itself, or the little notifier window in your system tray?
Comment 2 David 2018-09-14 04:28:01 UTC
hi,
#2 - neither app or notifier will perform update correctly. I have at present uninstalled Discover and instead using 'Software Updater' and 'Software' apps to perform updates, although I'm not receiving notifications of available updates with those, I have Updater set to check availability every day and notify me.
I would like to use Discover again if possible.

Thanks. What distro are you using? What Plasma version?

Hi, I'm using Kubuntu 18.04, plasma version 5.12.6
Thank you

Thanks. This has already been fixed in Plasma 5.12.7, which Kubuntu 18.04 will get soon after it's released.
