Description Javier O. Cordero Pérez (Cuperino) 2018-09-09 17:05:37 UTC
Kdenlive crashes when disabling "Fade to black", "Fade from black", "Fade in" and "Fade out" transitions if the transition isn't the top effect in the effects list.
Comment 1 emohr 2018-12-11 20:06:12 UTC
With which refactoring version you have that tested?
Comment 2 Javier O. Cordero Pérez (Cuperino) 2018-12-13 13:15:16 UTC
I tested this on beta 17
Comment 3 Javier O. Cordero Pérez (Cuperino) 2018-12-13 13:37:49 UTC
That is 18.08 beta 17... But I've retested just now on 19.04 beta 6 and it still happens with "Fade to black" and "Fade from black".

I can't tell if it happens with the "Fade in" and "Fade out" from the effects section in 19.04 beta 6, because those effects don't seem to be registering when I drop them.

The "Dissolve" transition is unaffected by this issue.

AppImage_13-Dec-18, effect stack

Effect stack see attachment. Tried with the nightly build AppImage 13-Dec 18 (https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage_Build/) -> I have no crash

You need to click on the "eye" icon of the effect for it to crash. I've just tested on the nightly build AppImage 13-Dec 18, and it's still there.

Comment 8 Javier O. Cordero Pérez (Cuperino) 2018-12-28 05:23:03 UTC
Tested on 19.03.70... Clicking on the "eye" icon of the fade effect that is not on the top still crashes.
Comment 9 emohr 2018-12-28 11:14:11 UTC
Confirmed. Step to reproduce: stack "Fade to black", "Fade from black" as in attachment 116904 [details]. Click on the "eye" of the 2nd Fade -> crash.

It doesn't matter how to arrange the effects, click on the "eye" of the 2nd Fade -> crash.

Tested with „Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage_Build #34“.

I tested the steps to reproduce the crash with version 20.08.1. No crash anymore.
