OS/Compiler notes: 

I left KDE idle with Kmail running and went home for lunch.  When I came back there was a notification of new mail.  (I ask Kmail to automatically check new mail every 5 minutes.)  Kmail crashed after I clicked OK.  The backtraces are inccluded below:
