Created attachment 114728 [details]
Left side is Kmail a partial folder tree, right side is thunderbirs showing the same (but complete) folders.

When listing folders in an IMAP folder folders with "[" and "]" (I use those to mark the name of folders that hold mailing lists, with names such as "[android]") the folder list is truncated and the folder with those chars and it's descendants are not shown (or sometimes they are shown but without name).

trojita had a similar issue that I reported in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332651 .

With kmail version 5.21.3 (22.08.3) the folder tree is now correct and folders with "[" and/or "]" in the name show up.

Setting the status to RESOLVED.FIXED although I don't have the time to go and hunt down where the fix took place, when and in which commit (probably not that important anyway).
