Created attachment 114684 [details] Manjaro.qtcurve qtcurve settings are not remembered. After each reboot thay get back to previous state. Here is an example. This is incorrect state after reboot: https://imgur.com/7GxEpIf This is gtk application cherrytree with breeze for gtk2 theme. Here is how it should look like. Dark background and white text. https://i.imgur.com/N60rJw9.png Here are settings responsible for this (I think so). But Plasma doesn't save them. https://i.imgur.com/kCmGD9a.png I suspect that Plasma 5 has general problem with saving some settings, because there other bugs reports for different elements of Plasma not saving settings: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398008 I report them separately. Manjaro, Plasma 5.13.4 qt 5.11.1 Framework 5.48.0 4.14.65-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Aug 18 13:29:56 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Created attachment 114685 [details] config_qtcurve_stylerc If Plasma could save settings this would work just fine.
QtCurve uses KConfig for saving the setting. I'll keep this open since that's what was requested in the other issue but in the mean time I'm not sure what we could do differently to fix/workaround it........................
And if it's a generic issue rather than something that each users has to fix, the component is likely framework-kconfig. Of course even in that case it could still be caused by your local configuration (like if the config directly doesn't have the right write permission etc.).
Both files have write permissions -rw-rw-rw- 1 stylerc /home/user/.local/share/QtCurve/ -rw-rw-rw- 1 Manjaro.qtcurve
I noticed that qtcurve settings always get back to (Current) Preset. That is the real cause of the problem. I expected that when I set it to Manjaro.qtcurve it should keep this setting. But it keeps it only until reboot. I don't know how to localise this (Current) preset. I would replace it with my own so that system regard it as Current.
I change style to breeze, deleted folders: .config/qtcurve .local/share/QtCurve with its files and logout. Then I chose qtcurve in settings (so at this point files in home should be default and have default permissions) and imported this Manjaro.qtcurve and there was no change. Qtcurve always gets back to current. So I think it has nothing to do with my settings. I think it is a bug, but I don't know if this is qtcurve bug or something distribution specific. Can you recreate this behaviour? Can you tell me it is possible how to edit current preset as a workaround?
Any workarounds, anyone? Here it how it looks in other applications, for example Pinta. See text inside the frame: https://i.imgur.com/9I2H4QE.png
