Created attachment 114620 [details] Terminal output Even today I've downloaded the Appimage files of Krita's latest compilations, but they don't work: I receive the error "open dir error: No such file or directory". The only Appimage file I can run is the old "krita-4.0.4-057e653-x86_64.appimage". In the attached file "KritaAppimageNotWork.txt" you can see the replies of the terminal. I have specified version 4.1.0 but the same issue occurs in all versions after 4.0.4. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator
krita-4.1.1-x86_64.appimage works for me on neon-devedition-gitunstable-20180826-0812-amd64.iso
Hi Avelino, I just downloaded a fresh copy of a nightly build Appimage (4.2.0-pre-alpha (git 95e1b63)) on Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and it works well. In your case, I would try to: 1. close all Krita instances (if open), 2. rename the directory: $HOME/.local/share/krita/ and the file: $HOME/.config/kritarc, 3. download the Appimage file again (check thet the download doesn't fail) 4. assign execute permissions to the Appimage file (I usually right click the Appimage and check the Execute check-box), 5. double click on the Appimage file to start Krita.
Thanks mvowada, problem solved, but I do not understand how! I have followed the steps you suggested and all versions of Appimage files have worked correctly. I then put back in their place (with the correct names) the folder $HOME/.local/share/krita/ and the file $HOME/.config/kritarc with my configurations (Workspaces, paintoppresets, brush...) that I had previously renamed and the Appimage files again work!!! I do not understand what could have happened. Anyway ... everything well that ends well! Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator
