Upgrade from Neon User Xenial to Bionic on 23 Aug, using the experimental method delineated here: https://community.kde.org/Neon/BionicUpgrades ecryptfs-utils was removed and upon reboot after upgrade users with encrypted /home could not log in. Solved by re-installing the package. Likely related to the demotion of ecryptfs-utils to universe repository, since Canonical now recommends full-disk encryption. Mostl likely an Ubuntu bug, but I couldn't find a report on Launchpad, only this note: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1033494/cannot-log-in-after-migration-from-16-04-to-18-04-opening-log-file-fails
