Currently the icon of pinned apps is replaced by the larger widget of the opened application, once the application is started. This is only true though for the virtual desktop where the application lives on. It would be great if it was possible to hide the "pinned icon" for all desktops once the app is opened *anywhere*. Use case: I typically want to open each "frequently used" application only once on a machine, so the icon is only wasted space for me after it has been opened.
But then what if you do want to open another instance of the app in a different virtual desktop? Seems like that would become inconvenient for the savings of just a tiny amount of pixels.
