When starting a Plasma Wayland session I see ksplash has an entry in the task manager while it is still running. It goes away soon enough once ksplash quits but it looks inelegant.
Can you pleae add more info about your system? I saw this Panel task in the past, don't see it currently Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition Kernel: 4.15.0-29-generic Plasma: 5.13.80 Apps: 18.11.70 Qt: 5.11.1 Frameworks: 5.48.0
I'm not sure but this is also could be possibly due to update from SATA SSD to M.2 SSD
Can again reproduce this bug - looks like when a lots of windows are session restored
I can confirm in plasma 5.14 beta, Arch Linux. Splash screen is also buggy because it does not occupy the whole screen.
Cannot reproduce this bug currently - KSplash is displayed in fullscreen - no panel is visible and it fades into desktop without any icon visible in the panel Operating System: KDE neon Developer Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.80 Qt Version: 5.11.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.51.0 Kernel Version: 4.15.0-34-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 7,7 GiB of RAM
Looks like this bug is reproducible for me when logging out from X11 session and logging in Wayland session - not when logging out and logging in Wayland session
Created attachment 126454 [details] screenshot taken on Neon unstable I have just seen this issue on Neon unstable, see the attached screenshot. It does not occur on every login to Wayland session. Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1
Should be fixed now.
