Description alexkde 2018-08-07 21:30:39 UTC
After resuming from sleep, i.e. the laptop was closed, the network manager does not reconnect automatically but asks again for the WIFI password.

However, it is not needed to enter it again as is still enough to select the relevant network in the network manager to reconnect.

(Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, 4.17.13 mainline kernel, iwlwifi driver)

It's not always reproducible; Once I will find the exact circumstances, how to trigger it, I will update this thread.

hum, my laptop asks for password on resume when encrypted password is configured in network manager and kwallet is disabled in system settings.
Neon dev unstable here.

This was happening to me when my kwallet was not configured correctly, but once I set it up everything worked fine

Omar, what settings have You changed in kwallet that helped ?

That was a while ago. I remember at first whenever I open a browser (chrom[ium]/firefox) after a fresh boot kwallet would give me a prompt to unlock the wallet as these browsers use it to store somekind of cryptographic info there, but I never knew the password. So I started deleting wallets and creating ones so that the browsers and networkmanager could use them by default. You can create one with any name and password, but I think that I read that the one the networkmanager will use by default should be named "kwallet" and frankly, I used my account password as the wallet password, not sure if this is necessary.

Thanks for the bug report! I'm sorry we weren't able to get to this yet.
It looks like this has been fixed as of Plasma 6.3.3. I am unable to reproduce this bug on that version, or on git-master.

This bug should be fixed on your system when your distro has updated Plasma to 6.3.3. If the bug is still present on your system with that or a later version, please feel free to reopen this bug report.
