When autohide is in operation and the panel is hidden any desktop operation that requires a dialog, e.g. entering a namefor a new link or file, or confirming an operation, the dialog is not displayed but is minimised on the panel. The only workaround seems to be to keep the panel visible, allowing it to consume valuable desktop space. OS is Devuan Ascii (Debian Stretch). AFAICS the official version number for Plasma on Debian Stretch is 5.8.1 which isn't in the drop-down box. Numbers listed in Synaptic are all over the place, KDE-plasma desktop is 5.92, plasma-desktop is 4:5.8.6-1
Unsupported versions are not listed in the dropdown. You can find your version number in kinfocenter, can you confirm it? I got the dialog correctly trying your steps. I don't really understand how your bug would come about, dialogs would be parented to the desktopview not the panel. Can you provide a screenshot?
