I am a comic creator, and have noticed 2 bugs. The first is with the "Select Shape Tool", I need to copy and paste many pieces of dialog or speech balloons around a large canvas. But whenever I right click and hit "Paste" it places the copied vector object close to the original as opposed to where the mouse is pointing to. The Second is with the "Vector Libraries", I have a number of speech balloons and tails and need to be able to edit the nodes of the shapes into the right shape and position. But this can only be done by first right-clicking and hitting "Ungroup", this must be done even if the vector object in question is not in a Group. The "Edit Shapes Tool" does not work unless this is done first every time.
This bug report mentions two issues: (1). Copy & Paste of a vector shape results in a shape being pasted just next to the original location. This is a wish. (Note that the current behaviour much more closely resemble the raster pasting behaviour). (2). Vector Libraries groups singular shapes so they need to be ungrouped before editing. This looks like bug 426606, but for non-text shapes. I think it would be best to leave this bug report to only refer to the issue (1) and the issue (2) should be appended to and cared about by bug 426606.
(Wait, sorry, the speech baloon is probably not a single shape; the issue is the same though).
paste at cursor works as expected in 5.1, this paste was probably not available when this report was made. To aid in discoverability I added the "Paint at cursor" to the context menu, as it makes sense to have it there. The second issue is the same as bug 426606. It is not possible to edit grouped shapes. I will mark as resolved duplicate to keep the information about group layers referenced in the other bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 426606 ***
