Created attachment 114176 [details] IRC logs Scenario: -Select "Color Picker" tool -Select "Sample Current Layer" setting -Switch to a layer which is hidden -Click anywhere on canvas -Pop-up window saying "Cannot pick a color as the active layer is not visible." appears -Click "OK" or close the window with "X" -Canvas becomes uninteractible. No tool is able to work on canvas any longer. For tools such as color picker, move tool, Selections the cursor appears, but is unable to do anything. When selecting a brush, colorize mask or smart patch, the cursor either does not appear or appears somewhere in the corner of the screen. It's no longer possible to zoom in or pan. All toolbars and dockers work properly. Restarting the application fixes the problem, no other solution seems to. Appears to be exclusive to windows, happens both when using a mouse and tablet.
i shall confirm this as it happened for me too
I cannot reproduce this issue, I'm afraid.
Created attachment 114810 [details] Video In my case, I'm able to reproduce this with 4.2.0-pre-alpha (git bb79c0e) Appimage on Ubuntu 14.04, Unity (see video): 1. activate a layer and hide it 2. hit "P" 3. Tool Options > Color Picker: Sample from current layer 4. try to pick a color Actual Results: impossible to close the alert box (many instances of it will open)
Curious... I really cannot reproduce this. And I only get one message box.

Appears to no longer be present in 5.2.6. The message box no longer appears, instead the color picker simply doesn't pick up any color.
