This patch breaks it: https://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qtwayland.git/commit/?h=dev&id=c5ab40d2573fde27a14d7c05d8693966c65a400c
Is this something we should try to work around, or should we really pursue a Qt fix instead?
Fabian and I thought that this is plasma bug as all other windows are correctly positioned. Oh, I should have mentioned, it's only on Wayland.
>Is this something we should try to work around No, it's not released yet. Plenty of time to fix it. That said it's not entirely clear it's a Qt bug just because it now exhibits errors under Kwin. The concept of the patch certainly makes sense. I'll try and get a dev build and follow it up.
(In reply to David Edmundson from comment #3 > The concept of the patch certainly makes sense. Well, this is actuall the patch listed in https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Wayland_Showstoppers#Fullscreen_does_not_work
Is this bug still occurring ? The description is pretty much empty so I couldn't verify myself. But if I understand correctly, is is about window fullscreen support and it currently works with Qt 5.12 and Plasma 5.16 at least. It is mentioned in https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Wayland_Showstoppers#Fullscreen_does_not_work that it should have been fixed with Qt 5.12 So I would guess this can be closed. A confirmation would be much appreciated.
This can be closed. It was fixed some time ago. Sorry, I forgot to close it. It's not about full screen support though. The bug was that plasma popup windows, e.g. kickoff menu or calendar widget were always in top left corner of the screen.
