Sometimes, right after plasma startup, an area of roughly three-fourths of the desktop is in black, and the desktop is shifted to the right. This is fixed with a plasma restart. Attached is a screenshot of this problem in action.

I'm not sure what produces the bug but happens sometimes at startup.

Pls issue

qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation

and paste output here.

Also gather plasma startup log from $HOME/.local/share/sddm/

The log file on my computer is empty. This is the output I for from qdbus in an initialization in which this problem happened:

Thank you for the report, David.

As it has been a while since this was reported, can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved.

I have set the bug status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved/worksforme" when you respond, thank you.

Haven't experienced the bug anymore in recent plasma versions. OTOH I'm using different hardware now (AMD) than when this bug used to happen (intel).

Thanks for the update David. I'm going to mark this as resolved for now. If you swap hardware again in the future and the issue is present please reopen this report.
