Description farmboy0 2018-07-05 19:00:02 UTC
I have an application launcher added to the menu which starts a shell script.
When I click on this launcher I get the error message:
Could not find the program '<name of the script>'

This is a regression to Plasma 5.12.

It doesnt work under X11 either, dont even get an error message there
Comment 2 David Edmundson 2018-07-05 21:24:58 UTC
Sounds more like your setup is wrong.

Please upload your .desktop file and I'll take a look

Hi, I have the same problem, but with an older Plasma-Version: 5.8.9:

I add a new entry in the "KDE Menu Editor" to start my shell script.
When I click the icon, the script is not executed and I do not get an error message.

Maybe this bug lies in kmenueditor.
Because my .destop file is executable from the commandline:

kioclient exec testfile.desktop

But not from the menu.

Same here:
kioclient5 exec Eclipse.desktop
runs the desktop file.
The classic application menu or the icon only taskbar dont.

I've just created a .desktop file for a shell script and it works just fine.
