Incorrect window refresh on maximize

The issue occurs when maximizing some programs, e.g. Firefox and a minimal Qt Quick test program (attached), on both X and Wayland. Disabling compositing has no effect.

I think something's wrong about events that programs receive from KWin on maximization, as nothing like that happens on resize.

The bug is common, easy to notice and was present at least as of 5.8.

I'm sorry but if the issue persists with compositing disabled the issue cannot be in KWin.

I tested in IceWM and the problem is indeed reproducible there.

Where could it be? Qt/GTK?
