Description Bill Donnelly 2018-06-27 13:25:12 UTC
Icon image and description text become corrupted. Application menu icons and text also corrupted. Has happened half dozen times this week, but unsure what actions on my part precipitate appearance of problem. Can be fixed by restart of plasmashell. Possibly related to 394921. See screenshots and output of qdbus.

I've been having the same problem.

This was my patch to it

Are any of you able to still reproduce in Plasma 5.21? If so, does it still happen if you disable compositing (with Alt+Shift+F12)? And are you using Nvidia graphics hardware?

Hi Nate, Prefrontal, and anyone else.

I'm still on Tumbleweed and update at least weekly and haven't had this issue in ages. I'm unable to try and recreate it because I was never able to reproduce it on command. FWIW, I'm on a thinkpad w520 that does have hybrid graphics and have always run the opensource driver, despite the warnings about incompatibilities with plasma.

Holler if I can help in any way, and thanks so much for the work you do to bring us plasma!
