Colour clips always white

When I do project > Add colour clip, and change the colour to whatever I like, then the colour in the project monitor (and rendered output) is white, which is super annoying

Did a soft re-install (Octopi cache clean and then reinstall), didn't work. Will try a hard re-install to see if it fixed

Hard reset did nothing to fix the issue.

showing composite on track "black"

After further testing, I have found that the issue is probably related to the black layer &/or rotoscoping. When I rotoscope something, the background that I have removed is not black - but white. Something is meddling with the black layer, so rotoscoping is not making parts outside the mask transparent.

Realizing this was issue relating to the hidden "black" layer, I decided to use a composite transition below and above the clip, with both on track "Black" and to my surprise, rotoscoping one clip on another clip worked.

However, whenever I put the colour clip as the background (lower clip), the background was still white, not green. So there is some problem with colour clips.

P.S. Sorry for spamming a lot of messages I should have only done 1, but I am new to this forum and didn't realize. I'll make sure I won't do that next time

This post sums up the whole problem.

It appears to apply to images and in on Manjaro only.

It's not a Manjaro but an ArchLinux issue - as Manjaro is based on Arch.
I have the same problem with image clips on my 'ArchLinux System

The problem is in MLT 6.8.0, patched 5 days after release.
Debian switched to a git snapshot (http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/m/mlt/mlt_6.8.0+git20180605-1_changelog), ask your MLT packager to pick the patches...
Hopefully MLT will release a bugfix soon?
