Description ptkory 2018-06-22 00:45:47 UTC
Note, similar but not bug #351209.

When setting a profile for "On Battery" regarding the keyboard brightness, the brightness does not change when changing to battery power. Screen brightness works as expected and other options also, but the keyboard brightness never changes when going on battery, regardless of level used (see similar bug). I am willing to provide more information but I would need to know what to provide and how.

Setup:
Kubuntu 18.04 up to date
kernel 4.15.0-23-generic
Device is Lenovo X1 Carbon (6th)

Can you change keyboard brightness manually in Battery & Brightness applet?

Yes, the keyboard brightness can be manually changed and the lighting works as expected.

Also to note: if I set the profile for "On AC Power" (plugging back in the power cord) in regards to the keyboard brightness, this works as expected. So it would seem that what triggers the "On Battery" condition is not met or is not seen - but what triggers the "On AC Battery" condition is seen.
