Description Rafael Linux User 2018-06-18 07:59:02 UTC
When I apply some effects (like "Atadenoise", "Chromakey", "Noise", "Perspective", "Pixscope", ) they do nothing and a progress bar appears in "maximum number of threads" that stays forever rolling.

I have no idea what's happening, but in Windows version this is not happening as eugeneyale told us https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=265&t=152371&sid=aad36b3ce88e7f3379c4881d3a99c741&p=400028#p399701

Please, fix this bug

Hello,
Could you test the effects changing the Application language ?
(either from command "LANG=C kdenlive", or from "Help / Switch Application Language").
As Windows archive doesn't handle language very well yet, maybe it saves in this case.

I have already tried to change from french to English without any success
But i tried again just now and I found that, when I search effect "Chroma" in French, it found 1 result : "divers"/"chromakey" (this effect fail)

When I tried in English, it found 2 results "misc"/"chromakey" and this effect fail but also "alpha manipulation"/"Chroma key" (with space) and this effect is OK

So I tried again in French, and the correct name of effect is "manipulation alpha"/couleur clé" and it works

The effect "misc"/"chromakey" is failed even if a change the language

I switched from "American English" to "Español de españa" and tried "Ruido" (Noise) again, with same results. No changes.

Noise failed also for me in English or in French

Hi

tried kdenlive-18.08-beta16-x86_64.AppImage today
the bug is fixed for chromakey

News bugs appear : Atadenoise, noise and perspective haven't any parameters. I just have the title

the menu isn't fully translated mix between French and English
Comment 10 eugeneyale 2018-07-04 21:45:15 UTC

In fact, none of those under miscellaneous has parameters with
kdenlive-18.08-beta15-x86_64.AppImage and
kdenlive-18.08-beta16-x86_64.AppImage
version

Problem is solved with version 18.12.0 (Windows/Linux). Only the "maximum thread" is not selectable.

We closed this bug. If it still appears in the latest version, please feel free to re-open it and update the affected version number.

This bug reappears to me, I'm afraid.

See:
http://nskcomputing.de/tmp/kdenlive-maximum-number-of-threads.png
http://nskcomputing.de/tmp/kdenlive-maximum-number-of-threads.webm

The main problem is the CMYK adjust filter, that is not usable. But there is no tooltip.
Therefore I am showing the problem with the erosion filter first, where you can see the tooltip.

I tried switching languages as well, but it didn't helped (re-added the CMYK adjust filter each time).

Is there a workaround?
Comment 13 Rafael Linux User 2020-08-22 22:34:19 UTC
(In reply to kde from comment #12)

I confirm the CMYK effect issue in the AppImage.
Comment 14 Julius Künzel 2021-02-25 15:44:00 UTC
There was a huge effect cleanup for version 20.12 and hopefully the problem is fixed for most of the effects.

However I can still confirm with the CMYK effect.
Comment 15 Julius Künzel 2021-02-25 18:56:28 UTC
I did some further investigation and it does not happen with the 20.12 appimage. Otherwise it is just happening if used an older version before, because there are some leftovers blocking the fixed interface. You have to delete /usr/share/kdenlive/effects/selectivecolor.xml and it should work

In my case, that file doesn't exist, only "avfilter_selectivecolor.xml", so issue must be not present in latest version.
