The new Plasma 5.13 Lock Screen feature that was introduced during the weekly report "Usability & Productivity, part 16". [https://pointieststick.wordpress.com/2018/04/29/this-week-in-usability-productivity-part-16-new-lock-and-login-screens/] This feature (I mean: hiding the user's avatar, blurring, animation, text shadow) should be optional (enable/disable). I am a big fan of a Breeze theme (with defaul blue background) for SDDM and lock screen because of its design. The design looks complex and unitary **(similar screens should looks the same)**. Now it's not like that (I mean this blank lock screen which precedes the animation), the lock screen just does not supplement the SDDM theme. As for me the idea of linking the GRUB2 theme, the SDDM and the Lock Screen is just wonderful. I like this mockups: [https://phabricator.kde.org/M45]. This is just my IMHO, if I was rude sorry. I really appreciate your work. Phabricator Diffusion: [https://phabricator.kde.org/source/kscreenlocker/repository/master/]

Is your background set to be a single colour rather than an image?
I agree with this and support the request. The new features have their use, but they should indeed be optional! I also believe they should be more customizable, such as the blur intensity or the fade-to color.
(In reply to David Edmundson from comment #8) > Is your background set to be a single colour rather than an image? Yes, but it is not about this.
>Yes, but it is not about this. It is, because I want to understand details of the underlying problem.

Also I noticed that the battery icon on the right bottom corner is super small in SDDM screen. Like in this bugreport - Bug 380826 [https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380826] but for me it is conversely (the Lock Screen battery icon is normal, but SDDM screen battery icon is tiny). Probably, for this issue it would be better to make a separate report, but I did not understand to which component it belongs. I had not figure out how to make an SDDM screenshot.
Hmm, if you set your background to be a solid color, the animation is supposed to turn off automatically.
Cannot reproduce in Plasma 5.19. Can you?
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200720 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.72.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.7.9-1-default OS Type: 64-bit Yes, I can.

I no longer know if this is a bug or a normal phenomenon.
Oh goodness, I see now. So this is technically intentional, but clearly the effect is not amazing, as blurring a solid color has no effect, and the darkening effect we apply can cause the color to get all warped looking.
