Wish: After adding their first desktop widget, Plasma should inform the user that they can activate configurations (resize, move, options…) by long-pressing the widget. Problem: For months I used the hamburger menu to resize the widgets on my desktop. I just found out – through an info pop-up when I chose Hamburger → Unlock widgets – that I could long-press a widget to activate the resize and move options. Essentially, I did something a bit cumbersome until Plasma informed me of a better way.
>through an info pop-up when I chose Hamburger → Unlock widgets – that I could long-press a widget to activate the resize and move options. Isn't that exactly what the title of the bug report says you suggest we add?

Should have been clearer: I think that tooltip should be visible upon the first creation of a desktop widget. Right now it's kind of hidden; the user must lock the widgets and then unlock them for the tooltip to appear.
There's a (not fully fledged out) design I hope we're moving towards where we have an "edit mode" and clicking the toolbox to add widgets will make all widgets movable until the user explicitly exits the mode. Sort of like Android's widget system.
If this edit mode would be more apparant and intuitive than the hamburger menu, I'm all for it. Currently, if the user is unaware of the long-press method, the hamburger menu provides an 'edit mode'. But for this the menu is impractical; it will cover some widgets, and if you press outside a widget the menu closes.
That edit mode has been implemented in Plasma 5.18. :) Let's see if it's good enough.
