Description algebro 2018-06-16 18:42:55 UTC
Running latest KDE plasma on Arch Linux on a Dell XPS 9560 laptop.

When I boot mainline kernel 4.17, I can no longer change the resolution for my laptop screen under System Settings->Displays. It's stuck at 4k, and if I click the dropdown and select 1920x1080 and hit apply, it just resets to 4k and nothing on the screen changes. I installed xorg-xrandr and was able to manually set the resolution using the xrandr command.

This problem does not occur when I boot the stock 4.16.13 kernel. Under 4.16 I can change the resolution in the Display settings as expected.

Sounds like a kernel regression.
