I've obtained a similar error on Fedora 28 x86_64 to bug 342866, same issue - large IMAP folder. It first started when I tried to select 7 e-mails and move into a folder. Afterwards, KMail and Akonadi hung, and when I restarted akonadi via akonadictl, these errors began showing. org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DATABASE ERROR: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error code: "1064" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DB error: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND PartTable.storage = 1 )' at line 1" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error text: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND PartTable.storage = 1 )' at line 1 QMYSQL: Unable to execute query" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Query: "SELECT PartTable.id, PartTable.pimItemId, PartTable.partTypeId, PartTable.data, PartTable.datasize, PartTable.version, PartTable.storage FROM PartTable WHERE ( PartTable.pimItemId IN ( ) AND PartTable.storage = :0 )" Found duplicates 215 org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DATABASE ERROR: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error code: "1064" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DB error: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND PartTable.storage = 1 )' at line 1" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error text: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND PartTable.storage = 1 )' at line 1 QMYSQL: Unable to execute query" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Query: "SELECT PartTable.id, PartTable.pimItemId, PartTable.partTypeId, PartTable.data, PartTable.datasize, PartTable.version, PartTable.storage FROM PartTable WHERE ( PartTable.pimItemId IN ( ) AND PartTable.storage = :0 )" versions are: $ akonadictl --version akonadictl 5.7.3 $ kmail --version kmail2 5.7.3 $ rpm -qa | grep mariadb-10 mariadb-10.2.14-1.fc28.x86_64 $ uname -a Linux myhost 4.16.14-300.fc28.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jun 5 16:23:44 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "REPORTED" when replying. Thank you!
Hi, Justin, Since this occurred I had to stop using Akonadi and KMail as I could fulfill my role with the errors, and I had to switch to Evolution for email. I'll see if I can try Kmail and Akonadi again and attempt to reproduce, but it's probably reasonable to close this ticket due to its age as there's not much we can do with the change we've had in KDE.
