Hi, I come from several years using Photoshop (15 years so so), and there is this workflow that I always use when I work with several layers + filters. Scenario: I have a lot of layers nested in a group, at the top there are filters (usually curves or leves) https://prnt.sc/jtgng4 -I need to create a layer above another layer containing colors/images etc, to make a fix or correction. -I always choose the "current and below" option of the color picker in photoshop (this setup will affect the brush color picker sub tool too) -This way I select several times while painting, some colors from the layers below, without being afected by the filters at the top. *** Right now I can select a color doing -control- while using the brush tool, but the one picked is a color afected by the filters, my workaround (very time consuming), is with R choose the layer below, change to the brush tool and press control+alt to just select the color from the current layer (wihtout being afected by the filters), then come back to the layer selected before with the ; key *** Regards
Any devs consider that ? I had the same feature request in few places. Its time saving feature .
"devs" are currently considering nothing but fixing bugs and cleaning up other unfinished business, I'm afraid.
Totally understand that , keep that in mind for future plans :)
The same option could be added to Fill Tool (only consider current and below layers to calculate the area) and selection tools (the same). It would be a new option in the "Sample Layers" combobox. I have this on my TODO, but I think first I'd need to add Color Labeled Layers to the color picker. And there should be a shortcut to pick colors respecting the Color Picker options (right now there are four shortcuts and they are absolute; it wouldn't be wise to add two new shortcuts for every new sample option (for foreground and background colors)).
