When I click, for example, an rc file, normally Kate would open. I now see an error: KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/kate' Other file types (jpg, png, pdf, mp4) don't show the error but nothing happens, no program is started. Starting the matching programs from the KDE menu works. KDE Plasma: 5.12.5 Frameworks: 5.46.0 Qt version: 5.11.0 Kernel: 4.17.0-2
Even after a reboot? (could be an upgrade issue) If it still happens, please watch ~/.xsession-errors when clicking on a file, and report any messages that show up there.
Yes, even after many reboots. When I start Dolphin with dbus-launch Dolphin it is okay. When things are wrong I also don't see previews from files and folders, plus the additional file and folder info "Size" appears very slow. When I open a directory with several directories inside, the number of items in those directories appear about 1 per 3 seconds, one folder at the time. With dbus-launch dolphin it is almost instant.
