It would be great if Kate had the option to enable overscrolling, so that one can scroll beneath the end of the document.

I find it helpful to get existing text out of sight and only view a (mostly )blank editor when moving on to a new topic.
And adding many line breaks is not the ideal solution.

Actually Kate already has such a feature, though it's burried deep within the preferences (see screenshot)
