Description Dav 2018-06-05 04:19:43 UTC
Hi there,

I'm trying to fill the missing altitude metadata from the embedded geolocalisation editor.
Process used is the following one:
- from the thumbnails view, I select the files which have a displayed missing altitude value.
- Then I click on the item > edit geolocalisation menu
- +> It open the geolocalisation editor with one map as layout
- In this editor, I select all files, then right click lookup missing altitude values
- => the altitude values appears in the editor
- then I click on apply.
- a popup screen appears telling me that "failed to save some information"
In this list, only CR2 files are listed.

It does not appear with JPG files.

RAW files come from EOS 7D, 5D mark III, 6D mark II.

Kind regards

Normal behavior, we can not write metadata in RAW files. See Bug 387351. Enable writing to sidecar files for read-only files.
