The “On all desktops” setting on the Window tab in settings dialog does not seem to work correctly any more (tested KDE Plasma 5.8.7/openSUSE Leap 42.3 and whatever Plasma version it is in openSUSE Leap 15.0). After changing the setting it works for a short period of time, but after a while the situation changes; the only way to get it to work again is to unset the setting, click Apply, set the setting, and click Apply again. This might be some kind of interaction between changes in recent KDE Plasma versions and Yakuake, not just in Yakuake.
It’s still the same :( Yakuake 3.0.5 KDE Plasma 5.12.8 KDE Frameworks 5.45.0 Qt 5.9.4 This on openSUSE Leap 15.0. Leap 15.1 is about to arrive in May, looking forward to see if anything will change.
Is this happening on Wayland only?
(In reply to Claudius Ellsel from comment #2) > Is this happening on Wayland only? Actually I haven’t even tried this on Wayland. On X11 this has been constant. I don’t know if it has to do with particular settings, like me NOT having the option “keep above other windows” enabled. Usually this results on Yakuake appearing in the task bar too.
I can reproduce only on Wayland. Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2
(In reply to Patrick Silva from comment #4) > I can reproduce only on Wayland. It may be somehow settings-related because I have reproduced this in all Plasmas in any distro for quite a while now. Right now I tested it in pretty vanilla virtual installation of Debian 10. First I could reproduce this with ease without even trying. The second time Yakuake seemed to work perfectly no matter what I tried. The third time, again, the bug reappeared. I cannot give right now the exact recipe of making it always reproducible. It seems to have something to do with multiple windows being open and moving from one virtual desktop to another and opening and closing the Yakuake window with the hotkey in each. Also it *may* have something to do with me disabling “always on top” in Yakuake and having the “X mouse” (focus follows mouse pointer). I will try more.
Alright, thanks for the additional details!
Maybe we have actually to different causes here, one Wayland related and one also happening on X11 under certain conditions.
This is also happening to me for a long time now. I came here to finally open a bug report, but found this one already set. > Operating System: Slackware 15.0 (-current) > KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.2 > KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87.0 > Qt Version: 5.15.3 > Kernel Version: 5.14.15 (64-bit) It does work in the moment just after I toggle “On all desktops”, but as soon as I hide Yakuake's window then open it again, it's gone.
Forgot to mention: > yakuake-21.08.2 > mesa-21.2.4 > xorg-server-1.20.13 Not tested with wayland.
