Created attachment 112816 [details] An 'strace -f calligra', showing calligra exiting at startup. Unable to start calligra. It just exits with no error message at all. An strace -f calligra results in (many Resource temporarily unavai lable) messages, mostly around futex and recvfrom). Attached is the strace log. I am running Fedora release 27. I did a 'dnf insall calligra', then tried to run it. I do not think I am running out of memory or VM, and everything else, big or small runs. This is what was installed: Installed: calligra.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-core.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-karbon.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-karbon-libs.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-libs.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-okular-odpgenerator.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-okular-odtgenerator.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-sheets.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-sheets-libs.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-stage.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-stage-libs.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-words.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 calligra-words-libs.x86_64 3.1.0-6.fc27 chmlib.x86_64 0.40-16.fc27 kdegraphics-mobipocket.x86_64 17.12.1-1.fc27 kdiagram.x86_64 2.6.1-2.fc27 kf5-kded.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-kdelibs4support.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-kdelibs4support-libs.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-khtml.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-kjs.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-kpty.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-kunitconversion.x86_64 5.44.0-1.fc27 kf5-libkexiv2.x86_64 17.12.1-1.fc27 lyx-fonts.noarch 2.3.0-1.fc27 okular-libs.x86_64 17.12.1-1.fc27 okular-part.x86_64 17.12.1-1.fc27
I can reproduce this issue on fedora 28 and Mageia 7 x86-64. calligrasheets seems to start fine.
You mean not start at all?
(In reply to Anthony Fieroni from comment #2) > You mean not start at all? Typing "calligra" on the konsole command prompt and pressing enter appears to do nothing at all and the next prompt returns. "calligra foo.ods" starts up libreoffice (often with the wrong path).
Please contact Fedora package maintainer, i can't tell what's wrong.
Please try to start Calligra Words or Calligra Sheets separately, depending on the type of document you want to view, edit, or create.
(In reply to Anthony Fieroni from comment #4) > Please contact Fedora package maintainer, i can't tell what's wrong. Well, it also happens on mageia v7.
