crashlog

hardware: acer t710, intel core i7 6700 3.4 ghz quad core, 8gb ram, gtx 970, ssd 120gb and secondary 1tb hdd with 2 500gb partitions (both with plenty of space)
firefox opened in background
filesize ca. 400M at the time, only open document

i don't really know how it happened, the crashlog says there was an access violation. my thought was that the location krita wanted to read from was on my second drive which has partially locked access rights due to a prior windows installation. krita is installed on my ssd (main drive) though, so i can't imagine why it would want that.

Access violation means that Krita tried to read from a location in the memory that was not allowed. It has nothing to do with disk permissions. Can you remember what you were doing? From the log it seems that you were dropping something in Krita?

sadly, i can't remember it that well since it was yesterday... i think i also had PureRef open, but you can't drag images from there and i just tried it with my browser, and krita handles these images normally and shows regular error messages. at the time of the crash i was in the middle of painting some dust and rocks, so i shouldn't have been handling images. do you think could this be connected to undos? could you name some locations that could plausibly crash krita like this?

my first thought was that the crash ocurred when i felt should have been the time for an autosave (i left it at the default 15 mins) though this has less of a foundation...

i just had a hanger that resolved itself luckily, feared krita would crash and the ressource monitor marked it red when apparently a windows defender scan happened. maybe a similar thing happened before too

Okay -- if we cannot reproduce this, then I guess we'd better close the bug for now.

okay, thanks for the help though. i'll keep better track if it happens again :)
