I want to try out the new 18.04.1 release of kdenlive for windows. What used to be an annoying glitch in previous releases now makes the program unusable: after loading some clips and setting up the timeline, I get to use the play button only once. After stopping and trying to play again, the controls stop responding and kdenlive appears to be busy doing something for quite some time.

If I wait, I can still do some edits, save files, and so on. But the play button doesn't work anymore.

Problem is known for all Kdenlive Windows version. Root cause not found so far. Work around: hit space and the arrow key right.

If Kdenlive seems blocked as you descript hit CTR+Space. Now the play heat starts from beginning and you can click with the mouse into the timeline to play from there.

Ones Kdenlive crashes with clicking into the timeline please post the error message from the event viewer: windows+r -> eventvwr -> check the error messages with Kdenlive.

This issue is solved with the latest Windows version 18.08.2 (30. Oct 2018)
