Hello aint,

I am sorry but we cannot do anything with this bugreport because it is impossible to determine what is going on. What are you worried of? Which linux are you using? Which Krita are you using? How did you install Krita?

I installed the app version on the microsoft store on my surface pro. it currently feel unuseable cause of a runtime error that pops up shortly after making a canvas. do you think this is a problem that could be solved by uninstalling then reinstalling? if so would all my work created be safe? or is there a less drastic measure?

Uninstalling and reinstalling won't make any difference. You could try to reset Krita's configuration (https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Resetting_Krita_configuration) Your work is separate from the installation, so uninstalling krita won't remove your work.
