I am using Android KitKat 4.4. On version 1.7 crash weren't present. I guess it has something to do with the latest fix for android 8.1

Are you using CyanogenMod/LineageOS/Replicant?

I've released a new version that should fix a crash in Android 4.X. Let me know if it works for you once you get the update.
