1. Generate a .png image from a sharp vector image. You could even use Krita for this by making a circle with a few line on a vector layer, and exporting the result. 2. Load the generated image into Krita 4.0.2 Pre-Alpha 3. Load the generated image as a reference image 4. Move the reference image 5. Note how the reference image is a slight blurrier even when size are the same There should some way to disable anti-aliasing on the reference image.
Setting to wish, since you're asking for a new feature.
Created attachment 124558 [details] Comparison between pasting as a new layer and as a new reference image - squares Is that *really* just a wish? I don't move it, scale it or transform in any way and I still get blurred results. Since it might be relevant, I'm checking it on my 4K screen with scaled UI and "enable HiDPI" in Krita turned on.
Created attachment 124560 [details] Comparison between pasting as a new layer and as a new reference image - red cape picture This attachment is just in case someone looked at the previous one and thought "oh but that's just for vectors". It isn't :) And the more you zoom out, the more obvious it gets it's blurred. And if you have things like sketches etc. as reference images, it's much better to load them as layers because they are noticeably blurred and low-res.

Created attachment 124562 [details] Comparison between pasting as a new layer and as a new reference image - blue squares Note: I need to zoom out a lot to make those screenshots; It's less noticeable if you zoom in, but it's noticeable and still definitely there.
reptillia39@live.com - Is it still the case in 4.4.2? I did fix it for high-res displays and for pixel art. Does it cover your usecase, too?' If not, please provide a test .kra file and the reference image.
