I use vimtex to edit my latex documents.
The forward-search feature is very useful in that it bring Okular to the front while moving the page to the current position of the cursor in vim.

Unfortunately the sidebar switches state upon refresh.  So if I'm in the thumbnails view, which I always am in, Okular switches to contents view.

This problem is similar to the one that has been fixed:

It is related to the family of requests for Okular to remember which sidebar is used for each document:

Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version?
