Hi,
yesterday I have used the search function (press the "K" in the taskbar and type something). Suddenly the taskbar (controlbar / "Kontrollleiste") disappeared and also the desktop-background went black.

A workaround to get the taskbar back again:
  open krunner (alt + space by default) and run:
  kquitapp5 plasmashell ; /usr/bin/plasmashell --shut-up

I am happy, this behaviour has not happened before or after. Yet...

This seems to be related to Bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356225.
But I only have a Laptop without extra screen.

I am using kubuntu, which has a quite old version of plasmashell: 5.5.5

5.5 is unsupported it's not a good use of time to look into it. Sorry.

Hopefully this is fixed in newer releases. Please let us know if it's still an issue
