As of some months ago, scrolling is broken in a way that severely limits the use of the telepathy chat window. It used to be that the window always showed the new content. However, this no long happens. Instead, whenever there is new text, the scrollbar moves up and I must scroll down to see it. This makes it very hard to keep up with the conversation as I'm likely to not see the last couple lines since I haven't scrolled while typing. This is a bad joke. does anybody even use this application? The current version is not selectable and it feels abandoned, just keeps gaining bugs and no features or fixes. Also, as a number of other KDE apps, the scrollbars are rendered wrong (unstyled light grey rectangle on ultralight grey background, not using the theme at all) on the window, so I can't even see the damn scrollbar to know it needs to be scrolled. I just have to try scrolling all the time and see if more text appears. This wrongly rendered scrollbar has been an issue for something like a year and keeps cropping up in more KDE applications.
>This wrongly rendered scrollbar has been an issue for something like a year and keeps cropping up in more KDE applications. Code is getting ported to a new web backend due to reasons not really within our control. I'll try and fix this though.
IM should not be beholden to the whims of the web. Why is web involved at all? This web involvement makes no sense whatsoever. IM is text, the window should be a simple text view. I suppose I need to find a different IM client. KDE Telepathy never caught up to where Kopete was before the work shifted away. The integration of the Telepathy stack on the Nokia N9 is excellent. It's really a shame that KDE only partially implemented an UI for IM and punted on the UI for calling.
