Description David 2018-04-25 08:51:39 UTC
Compared to other effects such as the magic lamp or fall apart, the glide effect (System Settings -> Desktop Behavior -> Desktop Effects -> Glide) has an animation that lasts for a lot longer.

Would be better if it were designed by default to complete the animation in the same amount of time as the "magic lamp" for example - especially since currently it is not possible to configure the speed of effects individually, and increasing the global speed of effects affects all others too.

Neither is better. We lack the information what makes a good default. Aligning to one randomly picked default doesn't make sense.

It's not about aligning to one randomly picked other effect, but about aligning with all the rest of the effects.

You'll very likely feel that effects such as opening the application launcher, launching 'present windows', switching virtual desktops, etc. all feel like they happen at pretty much the same velocity, while glide is a lot slower compared to all others.

You'll also find that effects comparable to glide in other desktop environments have much shorter animations.
