Vertical and Horizontal Mirroring can be on, however, will not work. The brush will not mirror, the only strokes that will come up is the one you are doing.

Can you provide a bit more info about your system? Those functions seem to work for me on my Windows 10 computer.

You said you are on "Windows CE" and then specified linux? Is this correct?
