Description Felix 2018-04-18 09:15:41 UTC
After migration from KDE4 to KDE5 (Debian 8 to Debian 9), the calendar categories are broken and unusable. Before, I had a number of ~10 custom categories with different colours assigned to.

After the upgrade, all categories are lost. Opening an event, which previously had category "A", shows no category anymore. Clicking to re-define the category opens the list with available categories: it is an list with a single entry "A". If I close the dialog and re-open it, the entry "A" appears twice, and so on.

I tried cleaning up korganizerrc (which still listed all the previous categories along with their colours), also wiped the akonadi database. No success.

I'm using Korganizer as a "production" tool in office and broken categories is a major regression for me.

A similar issue was reported here, but for KDE 4:

I have the same issue. Even events created with version 5.2.3 lose their category setting when re-opened to edit.
